Daily Bible Reading Day 340

Daily Bible Reading Day 340

Daily Bible Reading Day 340: 2 Chronicles 6:12-42/ 1 John 5

2 Chronicles 6:12-42

Solomon loved and worshipped God.  The temple could not contain the power and the majesty of the Holy Spirit.  Solomon showed the people the importance of worship.

Jesus is the only one without sin.  No one can escape it.  Since knowing this, we should cling even more to God, for protection and guidance.

God is waiting for us to pray to Him.  He hears every word we pray.  We may think God is distance because we do not hear direction.  But let us become still to hear the Lord.

1 John 5

Jesus is the son of God.  Before and after His baptism and resurrection.  Follow Jesus will not be easy, but we are under God’s covering.  We have eternal life accepting Jesus as our Savior.  Live your life for God.

If our prayers are aligned with the will of God, we should hear an answer.  God is not a genie that grants us every wish and desire.  Pray always!

Do not worship idols (money, success, beauty, people, etc.) because it removes us from God.  When we are believers, we have the freedom from the bondage of sin and a protective covering.  If we are in the world, we are worshipping Satan.

Daily Bible Reading Day 323

Daily Bible Reading Day 323: 1 Chronicles 13 & 14/ James 1

1 Chronicles 13

King David loved to worship.  He worshipped God all day, every day.  God wanted David to move the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem.  David wanted Israel to know that the center of our lives should be on God.

In transporting the ark, God specifically said for no one to touch the ark.  Unfortunately, a man named Uzzah was guiding the Ark and touched it, which God forbid.  Uzzah died on the spot.  David was upset with God’s wrath.  It seemed harsh for God to do that, but God strictly forbid the ark to be touched.  We must remember God instructs us for a reason and we are to follow those intructions.  God does judge but He also loves and blesses His children.  We are to see God in that way.

1 Chronicles 14

David was successful as King of Israel.  But his success came from following and listening to God.  When we have success, we need to thank God, not boast about ourselves.

David was successful in defeating the Phillistines because he listened to God.  He asked God first.  Many times, we talk to God in times of great need and desperation, after we tried everything else.  Seek God first.

David wanted all the idols destroyed found from their battle.  We need to eliminate the things that replaces God in our lives.  This is the way we can get rid of sin in our lives.

James 1

The book of James (the writer being Jesus’ brother) provides us with a great deal of advice and wisdom.

As Christians, we will deal with trials in our lives.  We endure trials, we know when we focus on God, He is with us and we can grow in knowledge and wisdom.  These trials increase of faith and then we can help others when they go through similar things.

Our focus needs to remain on God.  When’s e do this, we will not waiver.  Temptation will not overcome us.

Wealth and power mean nothing to God, so why do we focus so much on it?  We are not of this world.  We will have a greater reward, which is eternal life!

Anger is a strong emotion, that can lead to great damage if not contained.  Let us respond calmly and not make knee jerk reactions to something said or done to us.  Listen to others well, think before you speak, and not let anger erupt.

Daily Bible Reading Day 321

Daily Bible Reading Day 321: 1 Chronicles 9 &10/ Hebrews 12

1 Chronicles 9

The people exiled to Babylon returned to Judah.  They were exiled because of sin.  Many did not sin, but they were affected by the sin of the majority.  We still need to speak out against sin, even if we are ostracized.

Worship is an important part of our relationship with our Heavenly Father.  The Levites and other priests spent a lot of time in worship.  Worship of our God, should not be condensed into a 20 minute session, one day a week.  We need to find the time to worship and praise him daily!

1 Chronicles 10

The Philistines fought against Israel when Saul was king.  The Israelites were fighting a losing battle.  Saul did not obey the Lord and was unfaithful.  He remained passive.  The Philistines killed three of Saul’s sons.  Saul found out and killed himself.  The Philistines found Saul dead, took his head and armor and brought that to their pagan temple.

Hebrews 12

Discipline.  Good parents do this on the daily basis.  Our Heavenly Father loves us so much, He disciplines us as a good parent.  He is our spiritual parent that wants us to be our best.

We must remove all that is causing us to sin and stunt our growth.   As Christians, we must remove all things that keep us from sinning and obeying God.  If we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will live well.  Bitterness causes disappointment to take root and make our lives miserable.  We are called to be peaceful with one another.  People make that difficult, but it better to have peace than constant discourse.

God is a consuming fire.  He will consume all sin.  Only what are good and righteous will remain.

Daily Bible Reading Day 269

Daily Bible Reading Day 269: 2 Samuel 22/Galatians 2

2 Samuel 22

I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised and I saved from my enemies. 2 Samuel 22:4

King David knew how to worship.  He loved praising God and writing hymns and songs for God.  God is worthy to be praised.  David recounted the times God helped and protected him in times of despair.  David glorified our magnificent Father God.  When we ask for forgiveness, God doesn’t see our sin anymore.  We are purified.  Let us try to stay pure and without sin.

Galatians 2

I have been crucified with Christ.  It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.  And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  Galatians 2:20

The salvation of God is available to all who want to be forgiven and know the Lord our God.  Paul wanted to share the gospel with as many of the Gentiles as possible.

Paul had to have a heart to heart talk with Peter.  Peter dealt with fear, especially the fear of what people thought about him.  Paul told Peter directly what Peter did wrong.  Many times, we talk to people not directly involved with a situation instead of the ones involved directly.  This creates gossip and slander.

When Christ was crucified, we were also crucified.  Our sins were forgiven and our lives transformed because of Christ’s death.  Our faith and acceptance of God is what saves us, not following the law only.

Daily Bible Reading Day 203

Daily Bible Reading Day 203: Judges 5/ Acts 9

Judges 5

Worship and music was a beloved part of Israel’s culture.  God wanted to hear to hear them worship Him.  Worshipping the Lord can shift our bad moods and glorify all that is good.

Israel still chose to worship false gods.  They went against what God asked of them.  War was inevitable in their land.  Their disobedience created weak spots.  They did not focus on the Lord; they focused on the wrong things.

Acts 9

Saul persecuted the Christians.  Saul did not want that church to grow.  But God called Saul to minister for Him and bring Gentiles to God.  God can use anyone to advance His Kingdom, even the most unlikely.

Saul saw a light from heaven and heard the voice of Jesus.  Jesus asked Saul why he persecuted Him.  There were others around Saul who heard the voice but did not see anything.  They were all stunned.  Jesus told Saul where to go.  Saul became blind after his visit from Jesus.

Jesus told his disciple, Ananias, to look for Saul and to pray over him to regain his sight.  Ananias was confused because he knew of Saul persecuting people.  Jesus to him that Saul would be used to bring people to Christ though he would be greatly persecuted for it.  It was a three-day journey for Saul to find Ananias.  Saul found Ananias, Ananias prayed over him and Saul regained his sight.

Saul went to synagogues to preach that Jesus is the son of God.  People were confused that he changed his ways.  Some Jewish people conspired to kill him.  But Saul knew of their plans and escaped in time.

Saul went to meet the other disciples.  They were scared of him and did not want to associate with him.  Barnabas helped Saul with the disciples.  Sometimes when people become new believers, people are skeptical of their conversion.  Let us be a Barnabas for new believers.
