Daily Bible Reading Day 86

Daily Bible Reading Day 86

Daily Bible Reading Day 86: Proverbs 14

Proverbs 14

Wisdom is gained by learning from experience and staying aligned with God.  Looking for the easy way out is tempting, but it produces laziness instead of doing what is right.  Doing the right thing, means we may have to sacrifice something and work hard.  Always choose God’s way.

Anger destroys relationships.  Righteous anger is only valid  towards injustice and sin.  Get involved only when you can effective produce positive change.  If your motives are selfish or vindictive, nothing good will come of it.

God wants us to take care of the poor.  It honors God when we help others less fortunate.  Many people judge or look down upon people who are poor.  You never know why someone may be in a bad situation.  Instead of judging, help someone!  If you help someone, you will not enable them to stay poor, you will give them hope!

Daily Bible Reading Day 330

Daily Bible Reading Day 330: 1 Chronicles 22/ 1 Peter 3

1 Chronicles 22

There was a gift of land to David for him to build God’s temple.  But David knew that this was not to be a gift but a sacrifice unto God.

Due to David’s sins, God said David’s son, Solomon would be the one ultimately to build the temple.  David heard God’s “no” and accepted it.  He was not jealous of his son.  There will be times someone else will see it come to fruition, even though you worked hard on it.  Be thankful that it gets accomplished instead of who achieves it.

1 Peter 3

Submission is to voluntarily cooperate with someone out of love and respect for God and to that person.  It isn’t a demeaning action.  We are instructed as wives to do that to our husbands.  Husbands are to respect their wives. If they do not, this can hinder answers to their prayers.  By having the right relationship with others, we can have the right relationship with God.

Our actions speak louder than words.  We are to show others the meaning of being a Christian by how we act more than what we say.

Keep the peace, do not take revenge, pray for our enemies, be a blessing.

Daily Bible Reading Day 271

Daily Bible Reading Day 271: 2 Samuel 24/Galatians 4

2 Samuel 24

And David built there an altar to the Lord and offered and peace offerings.  So the Lord responded to the plea for the land, and the plague was averted from Israel.  2 Samuel 24:25

Israel was finally at peace.  Out of all of the leaders,  King David was able to bring Israel to that point.  However, King David was a sinner.  God was angry with Israel due to their sin.  An angel of the Lord brought a plague upon Israel and 70,000 men died.  The cause of sin was not explained.  But David asked the angel of God to bring the punishment upon him instead of more men.  David built an altar, offered peace offerings, and the plague stopped.

Galatians 4

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under th law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.  And because you are sons, God has sent the spirit of His Son into our hearts crying “Abba!  Father!”.  So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.  Galatians 4:4-7

Jesus was the perfect sacrifice.  He was human but without sin.  We were in bondage by following the law.  Jesus came to free us of that bondage.  We are saved by our faith, not through works.  Through Jesus, we have been welcomed into the family of God.

Daily Bible Reading Day 103

Daily Bible Reading Day 103: Leviticus 17/Psalms 20&21

Leviticus 17

Blood represents many things in Christianity and other religions.  Blood represented the atonement for one’s sins in Christianity.  God wanted His people to be careful in how they dealt with blood when they made sacrifices.

Blood could not be ingested because this was common in other pagan practices.  God did not want anything to overlap or have His people be overcome by temptation to follow pagan practices.

Psalms 20

David had his trust and confidence in God.  David knew that his kingdom would have favor because he trusted God and not on his own ability.

Psalms 21

David knew his gifts came from God.  He knew he could trust in the Lord at all times.  David knew God would always prevail.  Whenever we see evil seem to succeed, it is temporary.  God will always judge that evil and they will not win.

Daily Bible Reading Day 97

Daily Bible Reading Day 97: Leviticus 10/Psalms 11&12

Leviticus 10

Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, did not obey God’s commands during the sacrifice. Therefore God consumed them with fire.  God’s way was the best way.  We cannot think we can live our lives outside of what God commanded.  Otherwise there would be no need for God in our lives.  God’s ways determine right and wrong.  God’s way is the right way.

God did not want any of the priests to drink wine before going into the tabernacle.  Drinking to then becoming drunk, were (still are) sins.  If you are representing God to the people, why would God want you drunk.  Priests were to show the people about self control.

Aaron’s other sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, did not eat part of the sacrifice before they burned it.  God was angry with them. Moses was upset too.  Aaron explained to Moses, they were stunned by their brothers deaths.  Moses understood.

Psalm 11

When David was troubled, people told him to flee, run away.  But David had great faith in God.  Faith in God is our victory over fear.

God is still in control.  He allows troubled times to be in our lives to change us.  We need to see these times as opportunities to

Psalm 12

Most of the world does not live for God.  Our lives as believers can be hard.  Find like minded people to share your life with and it won’t feel so lonely.

God cares for the poor.  We must help them in anyway we can.

God’s word is pure and true.  Cling to God’s word.  God will protect us.
