Daily Bible Reading Day 105: Ecclesiastes 2

Ecclesiastes 2

Our pursuits in life should not be for fleeting things.  Working our fingers to the bone to earn money but to have no enjoyment in life, isn’t right.  Wisdom alone isn’t enough.  We all will die someday.  Many things won’t matter anymore.  However, to those who know the Lord they will have an eternal life.  May we love and serve the Lord and others, wholeheartedly and remember we will have eternity with Christ.

Solomon spent the early part of his life accumulating.  He collected expensive things, women, money, livestock, slaves, and power.  He still wasn’t happy and fulfilled.  These are all temporary fixes.  Nothing that this world has will ever fill the void like God.  You will never see a U-Haul truck following a hearse.

Daily Bible Reading Day 98: Proverbs 26

Proverbs 26

Engaging with fools is as productive as banging your head against the wall.  People who want to argue and be confrontational have no intention of learning or helping.  Social media comments end up dragging the life out of us.  Most times people want attention and suck the energy out of us.  Do not fuel the fire of aggressive behavior.

Fear, anxiety, and failure keep many of us from trying something new or difficult.  In order to avoid laziness, keep it simple.  One step at a time, one day at a time.  Ask our capable, Almighty Heavenly Father to guide your steps daily.

Daily Bible Reading Day 96

Daily Bible Reading Day 96: Proverbs 24

Proverbs 24

Proper planning and wisdom are greater than having brut strength.  Wisdom is a part of having strength.  In the world today, self-sufficiency is highly regarded.  But if you do not know how to do something, asking for advice is important.  Do not look at asking for advice as a sign of weakness.  Not asking for advice is what is foolish.

Harboring resentment and thinking about revenge are signs of sin.  Just like thinking of someone in a lustful way is just like committing the sin, so is wanting to take revenge.  An eye for an eye is not for us to do, God will take care of the revenge.  It is easy to gloat when an enemy fails.  King David did not gloat when Saul died.  Let God take care of our enemies.  Ask for forgiveness if you feel vengeful and do not carry that burden.

Life has its ups and down.  Our greatest lessons are learned in our hurts and failures.  When we are in these valleys, seek God and ask what you need to learn.  Situations do get better if you let God carry you through them.

Daily Bible Reading Day 88

Daily Bible Reading Day 88: Proverbs 16

Proverbs 16

There is a plan and a purpose for each of our lives.  In this fallen world,  we compare ourselves to others and we try to live our lives on our own accord.  When things are not going well, we remember to  look to God for direction.  After things get better, we begin to live again without God.  The will of God will never be fulfilled in out lives, if we live like this.  God wants us to commit our ways to Him in everything we do.  God gives us direction and then we can set our plan in motion.

Pride and dishonesty will destroy your life.  Be humble.  Be honest.  Even if you look bad for a moment.  It is better than living a lie.

Social media makes people’s lives seem so wonderful and perfect.  The endless search for approval and “likes” end up causing depression and being ingrateful. Our approval should come from God and not others.

Youth is more appreciated than getting older.  Getting older comes maturity.   Many cover their gray hairs because society disregards them when the gray shows.  It with age comes wisdom.  Youth and looks are fleeting.  Chasing youth will have you running around in circles.  Instead, chase after the ever lasting life!

Daily Bible Reading Day 77

Daily Bible Reading Day 77: Proverbs 5

Proverbs 5

Sex between a man and woman, who are husband and wife, is a gift from God.  God wanted husbands and wives to have that closeness.  Unfortunately, sexual lust plagues our world and gives so much temptation.

We are to honor our spouses with our commitment and our thoughts towards each other.  God will always gives us a way out of the temptation, if we let God do His work.  If we are faced with temptation, we may have to avoid the person completely.  If we cannot, we must remember that temporary excitement and fake fulfillment will destroy the lives of ourselves,  as well as others.

The enemy wants to kill, steal, and destroy.  The enemy wants us to believe our outlook is bleak and hopeless, because things look better in other people’s lives.  Do not believe the grass is always greener.  God’s way is best!
