Portrait of a Savior

Category : Uncategorized

Before Jesus came in human form “to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10), the prophet Isaiah described Him. “He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him” (Isaiah 53:2b).

God chose to send His Only Begotten Son and the promised Savior in a time when photography did not exist. Many artists have attempted to draw the face of the Lamb of God. They are all products of the imagination.

As you read God’s Word, can you “see” Jesus in your mind’s eye?

Have you believed in Him alone for your salvation? (Acts 16:30-31). If so, then you can direct your gaze upon Jesus, and say, “as for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness (Psalm 17:15).
