Esther 7

Esther met with the King Xeres to request a royal banquet and asked for Haman to be invited.  The king granted her request.

The king returned and saw Haman begging to Esther.  King Xeres thought Haman tried to harm Esther.  One of the king’s eunuch told him of Haman’s plan to hang Mordecai from a 75 foot gallow.  King Xeres summoned for Haman to be hanged.  Haman was taken away.

Daily Bible Reading Day 27: Esther 4

Esther 4

There was a decree to murder all of the Jewish people in the land.  Esther was Jewish but also, the queen of the land.  Mordecai asked her to speak to King Xeres to stop this from moving forward.

Esther instructed Mordecai to have the Jewish people fast and pray for three days for her.  She needed protection and discernment as she approached King Xeres.  Even though she was queen, she wasn’t allow to influence him on decisions for the kingdom.

God placed her in a place of power because God knew the evil that would be towards His people.  Esther knew she could lose her life.  But she knew she had to try and do something and not remain silent.  Esther had a plan and sought for direction from God.

Daily Bible Reading Day 26: Esther 3

Esther 3

Mordecai refused to bow down to Haman, King Xeres’ highest nobleman.  Mordecai knew that Haman’s family were enemies of the Jewish people.  Haman hated Mordecai and how he disobeyed his command.  He hated the Jewish people for their devotion to God and not to a king.  Haman convinced King Xeres to allow him to make a decree to kill all of the Jewish people in the land and take their wealth.

God does not like prejudice.  People how are prejudice will be punished, as Haman would soon find out.
